TEXPO 2025: With the Mountains, the Clouds and Us
2025 大阪萬博 (EXPO 2025 OSAKA),其中 Tech World 館的策劃,叁式負責打造位於頂樓的巨大環形劇場,我也以叁式成員身份,參與製作了主視覺牆面與開場視覺。
本廳名為 《山、雲與我們》。我們想用一座山脈的形狀,講一個島嶼的故事。從玉山群峰出發、途經嘉明湖、穿越山林和雲海,掃描了台灣的各式地景,然後用演算生成的視覺轉譯島嶼的地貌與節奏,把自然的脈動帶到觀眾的眼中。為了設計入口和開場視覺,團隊爬梳了大量古今博物學家與文人的舊籍,搜集台灣山脈的文學作品,將這些文字化作漫天飛舞的數位碎片,如雪花不斷生成而消融、堆切出一條連綿不絕的山脈地景作為開場。
以前在設計系時,我記得一直希望自己的設計,可以跟上世界最新的脈動。但十年後的今天,也是透過設計,我們得以向世界介紹自己的家鄉。
For EXPO 2025 Osaka, our studio ULTRACOMBOS was responsible for the rooftop circular theatre in the Tech World Pavilion. As part of the team, I worked on the main visual wall and the opening sequence.
Titled “The Mountains, the Clouds, and Us,” the pavilion tells the story of an island through the shape of a mountain range. From the peaks of Yushan through forests and cloudscapes, we captured Taiwan’s shifting terrains and translated them into generative visuals that convey the island’s natural rhythms. To design the entrance and opening visuals, we drew from historical texts by naturalists and scholars, turning their writings into drifting digital fragments—like snowflakes—that gather and dissolve to form an unbroken mountain landscape.
Back in design school, I dreamed of keeping pace with the world. A decade later, through design, we’re now introducing our home to it.
