Temporal Strata
Temporal Strata is an immersive audiovisual work by Wu Bing-Sheng and Liu Cheng-Jie, premiered at the FilmGate Interactive Media Festival 2026, before moving across stages worldwide. The work treats time not as a line, but as matter, something that accumulates, disturbs, and continues to generate. Within a dome-like field, perception loosens. Time slips out of sequence.
For its premiere, I was commissioned to develop the visual identity and title typography. The concept arrived as an image a space where dimensions unfold and compress, layer upon layer, forming lines of text. Like inscriptions suspended in a void breathing, yet structured by an unseen logic. Perhaps this work does not describe time but gestures toward how it might be seen, from somewhere further, higher, elsewhere.

《時間層理》 是新媒體藝術家吳秉聖與劉承杰共同創作的沉浸式音像作品，首演於美國 FilmGate 2026 互動媒體節首映，後於全球展開巡演。 作品以「時間的物質性」為核心，將時間視為可沉積、擾動與持續生成的層理，打破線性時間觀，讓觀眾在穹頂包覆空間中重新校準時間體驗。為了這次全球首演，我因此受託設計此作品的主視覺與標題文字。
取自其「可堆疊且物質化的時間」靈感，這個主題字其實是我夢到的。在層層疊疊的空間中，維度不斷被攤開又壓縮，堆疊成句層理性質的多行文字，有如碑文般的字體被雕刻在空無一物的虛空中，似生物般呼吸卻又彷彿如有機理在其背後作動。一如作品中想像意識成為一個點，讓時間從抽象刻度轉為以音像來感知的狀態，從紋理堆疊、空間坍縮的變化中，測量出呼吸所標記的存在感，我們希望這套作品能窺探遙遠的未來，一窺更高維度的眼光是如何看待 「時間」 存在。
